NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Will Replace Canceled RTX 4080 12GB SKU

NVIDIA apparently has officially verified the new name for the RTX 4080 12GB SKU, more than three weeks after the company disclosed the change in intentions for the RTX 4080 product line. The hardware leaker Kopite7kimi claims that the new name is essentially the same as the previous name for the RTX 4070 Ti. It’s old since it was mentioned in a rumor as one of the proposed pre-launch specifications.

The 4070 Ti SKU name was to be expected for a variety of reasons, most notably because the non-Ti model would almost certainly have to be cutdown from original specs, but the prior 4080 12GB specs had a full AD104 GPU, which is frequently associated with Ti variations.

These new RTX 4070 Ti graphics cards are anticipated to have the same specs as the existing models. The price is still to be determined. Given the large performance difference between the RTX 4080 12GB and 16GB models (24% to 30%), the price should be far lower. The RTX 4070 Ti should be available next year, likely in January, according to Kopite.
