NVIDIA limits GeForce RTX 3080/3090 Founders Edition cards to Best Buy in the US

NVIDIA has had a tough time with the RTX 3000 cards so far. NVIDIA unveiled the new-generation beasts recently, but they failed to maintain enough stocks to satisfy customer demand. Now, NVIDIA is limiting the stocks of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080/3090 stocks to Best Buy in the United States.

NVIDIA released the GeForce RTX 3080 for sale, with the stocks finishing in seconds. Reports said that scalpers managed to grab most of it. NVIDIA released a statement apologizing for the issue, and even put out an FAQ explaining the issue. Now, the NVIDIA team has revealed on the forums that they’re limiting retail channels to deal with the stock issue:

We have heard your feedback regarding the NVIDIA online store and are working to improve the experience.

In the meantime, we will be selling our GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 Founders Edition through other partners. In the US, you can shop for Founders Edition at Best Buy – GeForce RTX 3080 and GeForce RTX 3090. In Europe, we continue to review Founders Edition fulfillment options.

Founders Edition units are limited, and more will be available in the coming weeks alongside an increasing supply of boards from our global board partners.

Well, it is likely to help reduce the scalping issue. Best Buy is likely to have precautions in order to make sure that the orders go out to genuine customers. The limited stocks are likely to continue at least until the end of 2020.
