NZXT H500i Case Review

NZXT H500i Case Overview
NZXT actually offers the H500i in four different color variants: Matte White, Matte Black, Matte Black / Blue, and Matte Black / Red. As you can see we received the Matte Black version. The H500i is an ATX mid-tower, but is definitely on the smaller side. It has official dimensions of 210mm x 460mm x 428mm (WxHxD).

Starting at the front of the case you have all-plain design, which definitely looks good with the matte black. Towards the bottom there is a small NZXT logo, in black as well.

Moving to the top of the case you’ll notice that the top of the case and front of the case are a single piece. This allows for NZXT to have that perfect angle at the top of the case which makes the H500i just so sleek. Towards the front of the top of the case you’ll find a few connections and buttons. There is a large power button, two USB ports, HD audio connections, and a small hard drive activity LED.

Looking at the rest of the top of the case there is a small ventilated section with a pre-installed NZXT Aer F120 Case Version 120 mm fan. This spot can support up to a 140 mm fan.

The main side panel of the case is tempered glass and covers about 80% on the panel, stopping right where the power supply cover starts. I actually like this design, and allows you to hide many unnecessary cables. You will notice that there is no ventilation towards the front of the case like we saw on the H700i.

The opposite side panel is a plain panel, but you have a large ventilated section towards the front of the case, this is made to act as an intake, if you have fans installed in the front of the case. Both panels sort of sit inside the frame of the case, making the entire thing look flush, which is a nice design element.

Coming along to the back of the case you’ll find another pre-installed NZXT Aer F120 Case Version 120 mm fan. That gives you a total of two included 120 mm fans with this case. Moving down you have your expansion slots, and a set of expansion slots to mount a graphics card vertically. Finally at the bottom you have your power supply mount, which has a pull-out filter.

Looking at the bottom of the case you have four small feet that will lift the case off the ground for proper airflow for the power supply. We can also see the filter as well as screws to remove the hard drive cage inside the case.
