NZXT Internal USB Hub (Gen 3) Review

NZXT Internal USB Hub Overview

The NZXT Internal USB Hub is an extremely simple device. We’ve measured it at 44 mm x 81.1 mm x 13.2 so you really shouldn’t have an issue finding a place for it in your case. The hub has a total of five USB headers on it, the first is purple which indicates it is the input port and the last four are black and are ports for you to plug devices into. The big difference between this hub and previous ones is that NZXT has removed the two USB-A ports on the hub and opted to add a fourth header. I am not sure I am the biggest fan on this, those USB-A ports were great for receivers for wireless peripherals.

Another big change to this hub is that NZXT has finally let go of the Molex power connection and has gone with SATA power. You’ll find the power connection on the end of the hub.

Flipping over to the back there is a sticker with all of the typical information on it. One thing that is nice about this version of the hub is that the bottom is magnetic, so in most cases (made of steel) you can just mount this without the included 3M lock tapes. Obviously the 3M lock tapes are there if you wanted a more secure mounting or had something like an aluminum case.
