ORICO SV100 Portable Solid State Drive Overview
The ORICO SV100 is larger than most of the portable solid state drives we’ve reviewed. That is because it has a protective layer of silicon rubber. This is course protects it, but also makes it easy to carry and keeps it in place on your desk. We received the black version of the drive, but it also comes in blue if that is your thing.
While the SV100 is larger than some other portable drives with official dimensions of 123.5mm x 61mm x 16mm it is definitely small enough to fit in your pocket and can easily be thrown in a backpack or laptop bag.
The center part of the drive is made of aluminum alloy so your components inside are nicely protected. As we mentioned the drive is shockproof, waterproof, and crush-proof. For those wondering the drive only weighs 132 grams.
At the far end of the drive is a compartment that houses the single USB 3.2 gen 2 type-C connection. This connection is for both power and data.
Built into the outer silicon rubber case is a cable slot which can hold either of the included cables. This way you’ll never forget your cable!
