Patriot Viper Elite 5 DDR5-6000 48GB Memory Kit Review

Final Thoughts

When it comes to RGB DDR5 modules there are a ton to choose from, so why pick up this kit from Patriot? Well first off these are some of the best-looking modules that I’ve seen from Patriot and some of the best white modules out there. I really like how they didn’t make these all white with a white PCB, but rather used a black PCB and matched that with black accents on the heatspreader. The design of the diffuser at the top of the modules is unique as well and the RGB lighting is quite bright. This kit is going to look great whether you have an all-white build or just a normal build. It is nice that Patriot does have their own RGB software if you don’t want to use motherboard software to control the lighting on the modules.

The 6000 MHz with timings of 42-42-42-82 at 1.35V is not breaking any records when it comes to speed or tight timings, but allows this kit to be affordable and does not have you guessing if the kit will run on your system. This is also Patriot’s first kit that comes loaded with both XMP and EXPO profiles so you are good to go if you are running an Intel or AMD system. In general usage the kit performed quite well in all of our tests.

While this memory by default runs at a conservative speed, you can really push it! We were able to bring it up to 7200 MHz by just changing the frequency in the BIOS, no changes to the timings or voltage was needed. This is quite impressive, especially for a DDR5 kit.

Right now you can pick this specific kit (48GB, 6000 MHz, 42-42-42-82 at 1.35V) at our favorite online retailer for $159.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Patriot Viper Elite 5 DDR5-6000 48GB Memory Kit a 9 out of 10 score.
