Phanteks Eclipse G500A Case Review

Phanteks Eclipse G500A Overview

Taking a first look at the case we received the white version of the case. Phanteks will also offer the case in black. Now we have the D-RGB version of the case which comes with three RGB fans, and RGB strips on the front and side of the case. There is also a “Performance” version of the case that comes with four M25-140 black fans and finally a “fanless” version which of course comes with no fans. For those wondering about size the case has official dimensions of 500 x 240 x 515 mm (DxWxH).

At the front of the case we have that nice mesh section. This of course is Phanteks’ ultra-fine performance mesh. This mesh allows for high airflow while providing excellent dust filtration. Towards the top of the case there is a large centrally-located power button and around it is an RGB strip which we’ll show you in a bit.

The front bezel of the case be easily removed by pulling on it from the bottom. With it removed we find our three included M25-140 D-RGB fans. These fans sit on removable brackets. The brackets are attached to each side of the case and are not a single bracket like we see on so many other cases. This design provides less airflow obstruction compared to the single bracket design. As far as watercooling support you can fit up to a 420 mm radiator in the front of the case.

Moving up to the top of the case along the right side you’ll find you buttons and connections. There is a mode button, color button, a USB 3.2 gen 2 Type-C port, two USB 3.0 Type-A ports, and a combination audio jack. The rest of the top of the case is ventilated and features the same ultra-fine performance mesh as the front of the case. You can easily remove the ventilated section by pulling up on it from the back. With it removed we do find a cooling section that supports three 120 / 140 mm fans or radiators up to 360 mm. The cooling section is built into the case so it cannot be removed for easier installation of fans or radiators. Phanteks has designed this section with minimal surface overlap for the highest airflow possible.

The main side panel of the case is a tempered glass side panel, which is going to show off everything inside the main compartment of your case. It even extends down below the power supply cover as there is an opening to show off your power supply. The opposite side panel is just an all white steel panel. The side panels make use of a hinge design and there is a little indent in the front of the case which allows for the panels to easily open. Since the panels are on a hinge design you can pull up on them to fully remove them from the case.

Finally at the rear of the case we have a pretty standard design. Towards the top we have a cooling mount that supports either a 120 mm or 140 mm fan, our motherboard mount, expansion slots, vertical mounting slots, and power supply mount at the bottom. The vertical mounting section has three slots, but keep in mind this case does not come with a riser cable. Below the power supply mount is a small removable filter that pulls out from the rear of the case.
