Phanteks Eclipse G500A Case Review

Final Thoughts

As we come to the end here I believe we have another well-made and though-out case from Phanteks that is indeed high-airflow. So starting with the high airflow this case features Phanteks’ ultra-fine performance mesh on the front and top of the case, which combines high airflow performance with excellent dust filtration so you don’t need a filter. Eliminating the need for a filter means you are going to have higher airflow. On top of that the cooling mounts on the front and top of the case are designed with the least airflow obstruction as possible.

When it does come to cooling the case does come to cooling you can install three 120/140mm fans in both the front and top of the case as well as a single 120/140mm in the rear. If you wanted to do watercooling the front of the case supports radiators up to 420mm and the top supports up to 360mm. There is also a very large cut-out in the power supply cover if you wanted to do something like a push-pull setup.

As far as what can be installed in the case you can fit motherboards from mini-ITX all the way up to E-ATX, tall CPU coolers, long graphics card, full-size power supplies, and 11 hard drives out of the box, with the ability to add more buy purchasing more hard drive cages.

So many parts of the case make building in this case a breeze. I really like the side panel design, where each of them are on hinges and easily pull open. Since they are on hinges you can easily remove them from the case too. This makes opening to case so easy, and no screws! The two larger hard drive cages and three SSD trays are removable so you can install your drives outside of the case. All of the cable routing holes, Velcro-ties, and the large cable covers make keeping your cables tidy so easy.

It would have been nice if the top cooling mount on the case was removable. Unfortunately it is not, so you’ll have to hold your fans or radiators in place as you screw them in.

We took a look at the D-RGB version of the case that comes with three 140mm ARGB fans and the two RGB strips. Phanteks will be selling this case for $159.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Phanteks Eclipse G500A a 9 out of 10 score.
