While it’s not new for the AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT to be priced under $400, it’s the first instance where four models have simultaneously reached this price point. Despite AMD’s recent reduction to $419, it hasn’t proven sufficient, prompting at least three board partners to confirm a new pricing structure for the RX 7700 series.
The RX 7700 XT stands as an upper mid-range model housing a streamlined Navi 32 GPU equipped with 3456 Stream Processors. Differing from the RX 7800 XT’s configuration, which boasts 16GB GDDR6 memory over a 256-bit bus, this variant features reduced memory specifications to 12GB and a 192-bit memory bus. In terms of performance compared to NVIDIA’s offerings, the card falls between the RTX 4070 (SUPER) and RTX 4060 Ti models.
At present, four models are available either at or under $399.99, marking a $20 reduction from the official MSRP. Among them, one model is listed at $394.99, representing the lowest price yet from a major US retailer. Additionally, purchasing through Newegg allows for further price reduction using the ZIPGAME code, providing a 12% discount on the purchase.
The official MSRP for the 7700 XT is becoming obsolete, given the decreasing availability of Radeon RX 6000 cards, and with both AMD and NVIDIA having limited upcoming releases until the next generation arrives. The only competitive strategy left is to reduce the price.
