Radius Atomic Bass Earphones for iPhone Review

Atomic Bass Earphones Overview

The Atomic bass earphones look like your typical earphones. We received the black version of the earphones, but they also come in silver, red, and pink. On the cord you will find the microphone / multi-button. The Atomic bass earphones are about an inch to 2 inches longer than the earphones that come with the iPhone 3G.

The earbuds are designed a bit differently as they are not the same as normal earbuds that we are used to seeing. They have lengthened bass sound chambers, which are said to let the waves develop properly. Also they have 32 Ohms of impedance rather than the normal 16 Ohms.

Also another thing to note is that the connector is gold plated. As I said the earphones comes with 2 extra sets of earbuds, so you have 3 total (small, medium and large). Although this set is said to work with iPhone it will also work with the iPod Touch, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Blackberry Storm, Bold, and Curve.

Usage & Testing

So for testing I did a few tests. First was listening to music. At the price point of $49.99 I wasn’t expecting that much out of these earphones, but wow was I wrong! No wonder these earphones are called Atomic Bass because the bass really is atomic! I couldn’t believe that the quality of bass coming out of these headphones. I listened to all types of music and I was very impressed! Probably the best sounding earphones that I have tested! Also the earphones do block out outside noise very well. Although they are not sound isolation earphones they do a pretty good job at it.

I also made a few calls using the headphones and the included in-line microphone. Just like the one on the included 3G headphones it is not the best. Many times you will sound distant, that it is because it is not that sensitive.
