ROCCAT Kone XTD Gaming Mouse Review

Roccat hit a home run with this mouse. They were behind it all, from development to integration to producing a high quality mouse, especially for gaming. This is their flagship mouse, and I can see why.

Comfort is the #1 thing I look for in a mouse, knowing I can just dive in and feel like this mouse was here the whole time is a great feeling to have. For me, sometimes things take a day or two to get used to, but for the Roccat Kone XTD, I honestly forgot it was a new mouse, I already felt this mouse was already here the whole time.

When using this mouse for all my activities online, from gaming to web browsing, I never had any issues with the braided cable, mouse clicking, or mouse movement. I’ve even been using this mouse for film editing, and honestly, I’m getting accurate pinpoint edits. That reminds me actually, the jumping of the mouse when movement and/or lifting the mouse off of the mousepad. I never even realized it, I’ve always had issues with the mouse moving just a fraction when I come to editing videos and lifting the mouse off the mousepad during gameplay. Lifting off the mousepad does have some movement, but you don’t notice it which I found incredibly awesome.

When it comes to the driver software, it’s everything and more you can ask for when customizing this mouse. I mean, the mouse is titles “Max Customization Gaming Mouse”, and Roccat stands by that statement, hell I even stand by that statement. The driver software is incredible and it will really help you to make you and your Kone XTD one of a kind. Just about every single thing you can think of is in the software, and things you can’t think of is on it as well. Customizing your gaming experience is at an all-time high with this mouse. I would suggest though, to make a profile for each game you play, because sometimes what works great for one type of game won’t work great for another type of game.

Roccat hit a homerun with this mouse, and I highly recommend picking one up at your local major electronics retailer. Roccat is making a much bigger impact in the USA and you can find a lot of the products now at your local major electronics store. Right now you can pickup the Kone XTD at my favorite online retailer for 89.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the ROCCAT Kone XTD Gaming Mouse a 10 out of 10 score.
