Sabrent Rocket Q NVMe Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts

Sabrent has really been making a name for themselves in the storage market by releasing solid products with great performance and value and the Rocket Q echoes that. Looking at this from a normal everyday user or gamer standpoint the Rocket Q is going to give you what you need, super fast speeds without any heat or throttling issues. In our testing this drive lived up to the rated speeds of 3200 MB/s read and 3000 MB/s write and sat towards the top of our test group of PCI-Express 3.0 NVMe solid state drives. That means if you plan on using this drive as your OS drive you’ll load into Windows super fast. If this is going to be your game drive your games / levels will load up very quickly.

Like most consumer drives these days heavy writes will slow the drive down, but most consumers won’t really even experience this. Using QLC NAND also brings the endurance of the drive down, the 2TB model has a TBW rating of 530. I really don’t expect any users to really reach that number within the warranty period of the drive. Talking about the warranty, Sabrent is backing the drive with a 5-year warranty (with registration), which is much better than the typical 3 years we see on M.2 solid state drives.

If you are looking to move from a typical 2.5-inch SATA SSD to a NVMe drive, are building a new system, or upgrading that laptop, the Sabrent Rocket Q is a great choice and one we can totally recommend. Right now you can pick up the 2TB version of the drive that we reviewed today for $249.99 at our favorite online retailer. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Sabrent Rocket Q NVMe Solid State Drive a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
