SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD Review

High performance portable storage is becoming more affordable and rightfully so. Being someone who works with 4K video having fast portable storage is important. Not only when I am traveling, but when I want to transfer files between two different machines. SanDisk’s latest Extreme Portable SSD gives you up to a 1TB capacity, rugged design with an IP55 rating, and read and write speeds of 550 MB/s and 500 MB/s respectively. Could this be the best portable solid state drive we’ve seen? Read on as we find out!

Packaging
The SanDisk Extreme Portable SSD comes in SanDisk’s typical retail packaging we see with most of their products. On the front there is a photo of the drive and it lets us know the capacity, speed, and that it is water resistant. We have the 1TB unit, but this drive also is available in 2TB, 500 GB and 250 GB capacities.

Flipping over to the back we have details on the drive, the IP55 water and dust protection, shock and vibration protection, and the small compact design. I feel that if you were at the store you would have more than enough information about the drive to make an informed purchase.
