Although Sapphire is largely known by international consumers for its gaming products, particularly Radeon GPUs, the company also provides a diverse array of offerings for data centers and embedded platforms, some of which are accessible worldwide. In addition to catering to gamers, Sapphire offers motherboards, cases, and coolers; however, these components are exclusively available in Asia.
In 2021, the company unveiled its NITRO+ B550I motherboard, a Mini-ITX design based on the AM4 socket. Fast forward nearly three years, Sapphire is now introducing its B650I model, which boasts the AM5 socket for compatibility with Ryzen 7000, 8000, and forthcoming 9000 series processors. This board is crafted with an 8-layer PCB and an 8-power stage design, employing 70A Dr. MOS components, and it supports DDR5-6000 memory via EXPO profiles.
As a Mini-ITX board, it provides a single PCIe x16 slot, noteworthy for adhering to the Gen4 standard rather than Gen5. This also applies to its two M.2 slots, which are advertised as Gen4 standards. In terms of connectivity and functionality, the board is equipped with USB Type-C 20 Gbps and USB Type-A 10 Gbps ports, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, along with two RGB headers tailored for both 5V and 12V systems.
Belonging to the NITRO+ series, the B650I motherboard complements Sapphire’s graphics cards, allowing gamers to create a cohesive system with complementary components. In Asia, gamers can also access Sapphire’s NITRO+ cases and CPU coolers, which are exclusive to the region. These are the sole official cases and coolers offered by Sapphire’s NITRO series.
At present, the B650I board is exclusively accessible in China, offered for sale via the official Sapphire store on the JD platform. It’s listed with comprehensive specifications and confirmed availability. Sapphire has set the price for the new motherboard at 1689 RMB, approximately equivalent to 233 USD.
