Installation
We will be doing our installation on an Intel Z490 system so this installation would be pretty much the same for Intel LGA 1200, 1150, 1151, 1155, and 1700 sockets.
The first thing you are going to want to do is find the Intel backplate. On our sample the pegs were in the slots for LGA 1700 so we had to move them into the correct slots for LGA 1200. Once I did this I simple placed the backplate on the backside of my motherboard, threading the pegs through the holes around the CPU socket.
With the backplate installed find the black Intel spacers. These do have rubber on one side, place them this side down over the pegs in the backplate.
Now take the Intel mounting bars and place them on the top and bottom pegs like you see below. Take the included thumbscrews and secure the mounting bars.
Apply the included thermal paste and then carefully place the cooler on top of your CPU lining up the screws on the cooler with the holes in the mounting bars. Take the included screwdriver and place it down through the heatsink to secure the cooler. What I really like about this method is that you don’t have to remove any of the fans to get the cooler installed.
With the cooler installed we can see the cut-out at the back makes it so our rear I/O cover doesn’t get in the way and at the front the fan doesn’t extend over our memory, so this is a cooler you can definitely use with RGB memory.
The last thing you are going to want to do is connect the fans to the included Y-connector and then plug it into your motherboards CPU fan header. The front (thinner) fan gets plugged into the white connection on the Y-connector.
