Scythe Mugen 6 DBE CPU Cooler Overview
This is of course the Dual Fan Black Edition of the Mugen 6 so it is going to be larger than the original Mugen 6. Official dimensions are 132mm x 132mm x 154mm (WxDxH) and the cooler weighs in at 1197g. Scythe has “blacked out” this cooler so both fans are black, the entire heatsink is black, and even the fan clips are black!
Starting at the front of the cooler we have Scythe’s 120mm Wonder Tornado fan. 120mm Wonder Tornado fan. This fan will spin between 350 and 2000 RPM, with an airflow between 7.68 and 60.29 CFM, and a max noise level of 26.88 dBA. Each of the corners of the fan have removable anti-vibration pads, reducing vibrations transmitted to the computer case during operation and minimizing any noise. This exact fan is on the rear of the cooler as well.

If we look at the cooler from the side we can see the dual fan design and that the heatsink itself is quite thick. It is actually 80mm thick by itself! Here we can also see the offset design as the heatsink sits off-center from the actual base of the cooler. This allows you to have 100% RAM clearance.
The fins on the heatsink are spaced far enough apart for air to easily flow through them.

At the top of the cooler you’ll find a small Scythe logo and a hole where you’ll put the included screwdriver down through when you are installing the cooler.
Coming up from the base of the cooler are six 6mm-thick copper heatpipes. These heatpipes go up into the heatsink tower in a “U” fashion, which is pretty standard for tower coolers.

The base of the cooler is nickel-plated copper and has a pretty solid finish on it, although I did notice some marks on it.
