Final Thoughts on the Scythe Mugen 6 DBE CPU Cooler
We absolutely loved the original Scythe Mugen 6 CPU cooler, but we did mention it was a pretty plain-jane cooler with its silver heatsink tower. Scythe has changed things around a bit with this cooler. Now we have an all-black design which is going to look far better in most builds. On top of that Scythe has added a second fan for even more performance.
Even though this is a dual-fan cooler it is quite easy to install. Installation shouldn’t take much time at all whether you are installing the cooler inside a case or outside. Another thing that is great about this cooler is that even though it is a bit large, it does not cover up your memory. So if you have RGB memory you can show it off, not have it covered by the front fan. This does make the rear fan sit back a bit further, so that is something to keep in mind.
The second fan does give you a bit better performance, but nothing crazy compared to the original Mugen 6. In our testing at full load this cooler was just 2 degrees cooler. This is still pretty amazing performance compared to massive coolers that are in our test group and the cooler is not all that loud either.
Scythe is selling this cooler for $54.99, which again if we compare to other high-end coolers seems like a steal! Overall ThinkComputers gives the Scythe Mugen 6 DBE CPU Cooler a 9 out of 10 score and our Good Value Award!

Pros:
– Great performance
– Easy installation
– All-black design
– Does not cover your memory
– Price
Cons:
– Rear fan sat on top of our rear I/O cover
– Only a little bit better performance over the single-fan model
