SilverStone ES02-USB PC Remote Switch Kit Review

ES02-USB Kit Overview & Setup
The ES02-USB kit is mainly made up of two parts. First you have the adapter / receiver card. This is what will get the signal from the remote. It is a simple device that plugs into a USB header on your motherboard. At the end it has a connection with wires for power and reset. These of course you plug into the power button and reset button headers on your motherboard. There are also included Y-cables that you can connect to the power and reset buttons on your case so you still can use its power and reset buttons.

Next you have the remote. It looks much like a remote you would have for your car. It just has a power and reset button on it.

Finally you have the USB left and right angle adapter. If there is not enough room for the receiver on the bottom of your motherboard you can install this. It offers both left and right as well as front connections.

Getting the ES02-USB setup is extremely easy. You can either use the angle adapter or just plug in the receiver into a USB header on your motherboard. You will then plug the cables into the power switch and reset switch headers on your board. If you still want to be able to use the power and reset buttons on your case be sure to plug in those wires from your case to the open-ended cables. We did not do that as we installed this on our test bench.
