In case you missed it, we recently checked out and reviewed the Kraken X52 AiO water cooling system. Not only does it have a super unique pump casing which features a sweet RGB LED infinity mirror on the top, but the performance was top level as well. As with most companies, NZXT of course offers the same cooler in several different sizes. In the lab today we’ve got the top dog on the block, the X62. The X62 features the same awesome pump and boosts performance up a notch by adding a larger 280mm radiator. Follow along as we find out if this next step is worth the upgrade and worth your extra cash.
Special thanks to NZXT for supplying the Kraken X62 for review!

The X62 will show up on your doorstep in a very modern looking cardboard package enclosed in shrink wrap. Continuing with their matte color scheme you will find flat purple mated with flat white all over. The front of the box features a large photo of the cooler itself with the name in large black type set over top of it all on a white background. The top and lid of the box is a purple background with large white text over top set in two of the corners.
The back of the box is where we really start to find some good information. You will find a good sized photo of the cooler installed in a system with three key features displayed below. In addition the left third of the back is covered with a screenshot of NZXT’s CAM software and a brief description above it. Moving to the right side of the box you will find the complete list of features and technical specifications similar to what we listed above. You will also see a chart showing how the 280mm version of the Kraken actually features 36% more surface area than the 240mm equipped X52. It’s an important point that NZXT makes that not many people realise. Although they are only 40mm larger, 280mm radiators actually serve up quite a bit more surface area.
The right side of the box has the key features displayed in 10 additional languages to English. Finally if we flip the box top back you will find the phrase “Build the Extraordinary” (again in multiple languages) which is NZXT’s mantra and guiding words for builders.
