Thermaltake Ceres 300 TG ARGB Case Review

Final Thoughts

I’ve been a huge fan of the Ceres cases since they were first introduced by Thermaltake. These cases have a sleek look, can fit the latest hardware, and come equipped with fans so they are ready to go out of the box. If they Ceres 500 was too large of a case for you, the Ceres 300 might just be the perfect thing. Even though it is a more compact case than its big brother, you don’t lose much in terms of the size of the hardware that you can install inside of it. You still have support for E-ATX power supplies, graphics cards as long as 370 mm, and CPU coolers as tall as 185mm.

The case is really easy to work in too. We did not run into a single issue during our installation and it was quite easy to route all of our cables and have a very clean build.

One of the things that really did surprise me about this case is that you only have room for two 2.5-inch solid state drives or a single 3.5-inch drive. I know we are slowly moving to having mostly M.2 storage, but the Ceres 500 had support for up to 8 drives, so only having two here is a bit disappointing. And it is not like there is not space, a hard drive cage could have been added to the bottom of the case, or mounts added to the power supply cover. I also was a bit disappointed that the rear fan was not an RGB fan to go with the two front RGB fans.

The optional 3.9-inch LCD kit is a nice addon and is extremely easy to get installed. I do wish that Thermaltake would do a complete make-over of their software though, it feels really dated at this point.

When it came to cooling performance and noise levels this case is pretty good, while the idle performance was not the best, during load the performance was quite good.

I do like this case a lot, I just feel like Thermaltake could have really knocked this case out of the park and they didn’t. It does come in at a very respectable price of $99 at our favorite online retailer. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Thermaltake Ceres 300 TG ARGB Case an 8 out of 10 score.
