Thermaltake Level 20 RGB Titanium Gaming Keyboard Review

Software & Lighting

Now the Level 20 RGB will automatically be recognized by Windows when you plug it into your PC and it will work without any software. If you want to customize the keyboard at all you’ll need to download Thermaltake’s iTake software. Opening the software up you are shown your keyboard and are under the “Customize” tab by default. Here you can select any key on the keyboard and reprogram it. You have the ability to remap each key to another key, macro, media function, one of the function keys, launch an application, switch profiles, or completely disable the key. Macros have their own tab and they are quite easy to record and save.

Lighting is the next tab. Here you’ll be shown your current active RGB effect and be able to change colors, speed, brightness, direction etc. As far as effects you have quite a lot and you can set different effects for the keyboard itself as well as the light bar that goes around the keyboard.

The lighting on this keyboard is awesome. I really like the addition of the light bar around the keyboard, the illuminated TT logo and the smaller light bar that separates the two sides of the keyboard.

Another cool thing about the iTake software is that it has a companion mobile app. It is available for both iOS and Android. Once you’ve downloaded that app be sure that your phone and PC are connected to the same network and you should see your computer listed on the main screen. If you select it you are brought into the lighting tab, which allows you to change the lighting effects on the keyboard from your phone! You can also bring up a virtual keyboard which allows you to type on your computer using your phone.

Another cool thing about the mobile app is the virtual controller, which turns your phone into a controller!
