WD Ships World’s First 5 mm 2.5-inch Hard Drive

WD has announced today that they are shipping the world’s first ultra-slim 2.5-inch, 5 mm hard drives and solid state hybrid drives (SSHD). These new drives are designed for slim devices like tablets where there is not much space available. With their 500 GB capacity these drives are aimed to increase storage capacity while enabling them to fit in smaller device slots.

The WD Blue 2.5-inch 5 mm hard drive model: WD5000MPCK has a MSRP of $89.00 and is covered by a 2 year warranty.
