It has been a devastating year, and such it’s no surprise that supply chains have been thoroughly impacted. We saw that Sony botched up the PlayStation pre-orders, and NVIDIA had their own share with the RTX 3000 series. It looks like the limited quantities will be the norm for a while as Xbox seems to be low on its next-gen consoles too.
After Sony’s mistake, Microsoft played it smart by announcing the pre-orders clearly in advance. However, it seems that the quantities for the next-gen Xbox consoles are still low. GameStop employees have been discussing their concerns about the same on their public discord channel. Apparently the stocks for the Xbox Series S are limited to two per store. Take a look:
Wario64 on Twitter, known for this deals information is also expecting similar numbers:
some numbers I heard for GameStop per-store allocations for Xbox Series preorders:
Series X – 6-12 per store
Series S – 2-4 per store— Wario64 (@Wario64) September 21, 2020
So if you’re looking to pre-order an Xbox Series console, you might want to be on the lookout for the right time and place. Constant Vigilance!
