3DMark TimeSpy Test Shows Intel Arc A730M Is Faster Than RTX 3070 Laptop GPU

Weibo’s ‘Golden Pig Upgrade’ leakster has recently published the score for the 3DMark Time Spy benchmark which has been run by more than 10k graphics points. All credit for this score goes to Intel’s Arc A730M which is the company’s latest Arc Alchemist mobile GPU. The score is pretty impressive considering that this is not even the full ACM-G10 based model. A total of 32 Xe-Cores are available on this graphics processor and the GPU features 24 out of these 32.

A Chinese Mechanike laptop was used to conduct the test using Intel’s 12th Gen Core “Alder Lake” CPU. For this particular test, the system used a Core i7-12700H 14-core processor. These results generate a score of 10107 graphics points for the A730M. According to Notebookcheck’s GPU ranking, this makes it faster than NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop which stands at 9462 points. Even the RTX 3070 Ti GPUs have fallen behind in their score as compared to the A730M.

Interestingly, Intel provides optimizations for the new Arc GPUs for benchmarking in 3D software. However, if these optimizations are used, the scores are declared invalid as it is unfair to compare it to the other graphics cards without the optimizations. Laptops featuring the Arc A370M are so far only available in China as of now.
