It has been hinted at there might be a Crysis remake / remaster in the works. We first saw a tease at the end of the CryEngine 2020 video, then the Crysis twitter account became active after 4 years! Well it seems now that a Crysis Remaster is confirmed! The official Crysis website was showing a a picture that said “Crysis Remastered”, which one could easily see when going to a Cookie Policy part of the website. This was discovered by Twitter user Nibellion.
While this part of the website has since been taken down it basically confirms that we will have a Crysis remaster coming very soon! This quote was also found on the website: “From the makers of Far Cry, Hunt: Showdown and CRYENGINE, Crysis offers the first-person shooter fans the best-looking, evolved, and innovative gameplay, enabling players to adapt in real-time to survive. Crysis Remastered brings new graphic features, high-quality textures, and the CRYENGINE’s native hardware- and API-agnostic ray tracing solution for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and – for the very first time – Nintendo Switch.” It is going to be very interesting to see how they will pull off bringing this game to the Nintendo Switch as it is quite an under-powered device.
The big question we have is what Crysis games is going to be remastered? The original? The popular Crysis 3? We can expect this new game to support 4K textures and new technologies like ray tracing.
