One of Acer’s upcoming monitors, The EL491CRG9, a 49-inch super ultra-wide monitor, is being offered as a preorder by a Chinese retailer. As per the retailers listing, it has 5120×1440 resolution and a refresh rate of up to 240 Hz. The monitor also has a 1ms response time and is compatible with both the NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync.
The EL491CRG9 is based on a 32:9 curved (1000R) VA panel. The panel has Mini LED technology with 2048 local dimming zones. It has reportedly achieved a peak brightness of 2000 cd/m2. Acer has not confirmed the monitor’s VESA DisplayHDR 2000 certification though.
Previously, we also reported about Samsung’s refreshed Odyssey G9, which will also have almost the same specification as the EL491CRG9. There will be some minor differences between the monitors, like the Samsung G9 will feature fewer HDMI ports.
The main difference between the monitors is the price. Acer’s EL491CRG9 can be preordered for 14,999 RMB or 2,300 USD, while the Samsung Odyssey G9 2021 is available for preorder at 29,999 RMB.
