ADATA Shows First USB4 Portable SSD & More at CES 2023

ADATA was showing something we did not see anywhere else at CES 2023, a USB4 portable solid state drive! They also had their super-fast PCIe Gen5 solid state drive and a very cool 1600W digital power supply.

If you want super-fast storage on the go ADATA has you covered with their brand new SE920 USB4 portable solid state drive. Powered by the Asmedia ASM2464PD controller the drive showed speeds of 3800 MB/s read and 3200 MB/s write in the tests we were able to run on it at the ADATA booth.

If you press on the drive from the top and bottom it sort of clicks open and expands. When you do this it turns on a small internal fan to help keep the drive nice and cool. ADATA will be offering this drive in 1TB and 2TB models, availability is expected to be at the end of April.

ADATA was showing off a Gen5 NVMe solid state drive like many others at CES, but theirs was a bit different as it is powered by the Silicon Motion SM 2508 controller, which ADATA says will give the drive read speeds of 14,000 MB/s and write speeds of 12,000 MB/s! Adata also claims that its drive will serve up 2 million random read/write IOPS, which is very impressive!

XPG Fusion 1600W Digital Power Supply

The last product we took a look at was the XPG Fusion 1600W Digital Power Supply. ADATA has developed this unit in collaboration with Delta. As the name suggests this is a 1600W power supply and has an 80PLUS Titanium rating. Being 1600W you are going to get two of the 16-pin 12VPWR power connections. The whole “digital” part of the power supply connects with their software and not only allows you to monitor voltages and temperatures, but you can adjust voltages, change from single-rail to multi-rail and more! The XPG Fusion 1600W Digital will be available in February for $749.
