A leaker has claimed the AMD Radeon RX 6500XT And RX 6400 Budget RDNA 2 Cards are inbound.
AMD Radeon RX 6600 is, as of now, the most mainstream RDNA 2 card.
Today’s leak from prominent Japanese Twitter leakster @KOMACHI_ENSAKA has made us cautiously optimistic. “RX 6500XT” and “RX6400” were vaguely mentioned in a tweet(in a quote reply) that card like these can be offered with 4GB of GDDR6 memory.
He then added in his later tweets that the cards are listed including the model number. He also gave a hint that they are based on either the last generation Navi 14 or the as yet unannounced Navi 24 “Beige Goby” GPU. However, it was not shared by Komanchi where or when he got these listings from.
The Navi 14 GPU is the same as the Radeon RX 5300 and unfortunately, it will be lacking DirectX 12 Ultimate support.
There have been rumors about the release of Beige Goby before but it hasn’t been released anywhere yet. These leaks are aligned with the previous information received earlier. If they are accurate, we can hope for a very small Radeon GPU with around 1024 shader processors, an infinite cache of 16MB, and a memory bus of 64-bit. It was also indicated by another previous leak that the total graphics power for the top end Navi 24 model will max out at 50W. The information, however, was about the mobile version.
After seeing the scenario, given how the higher end RDNA2 Radeon are well above their weight class, we can hope for a pretty potent little slot-powered GPU.
