We all know how Tesla moved the crypto market earlier this year by making Bitcoin a payment option for their electric cars. Now, Apple might bring an even greater impact to the crypto market by making Bitcoin an acceptable payment method for their huge customer base.
As per the recent job posting, Apple is looking to hire a Business Development Manager for Alternative Payments.
Currently, there aren’t many details available, but the job vacancy suggests that Apple may want to develop partnerships in the crypto industry. Considering the rise, cryptocurrencies saw in 2021, it might be a sensible move from Apple to enter the crypto world by expanding its Apple Pay services(mobile payment and digital wallet service) to the crypto world.
As mentioned before, Apple is not the only Fortune 500 company to enter the world of crypto. Tesla entered this market at the start of 2021 by accepting the payments for their EV in the form of bitcoins. Unfortunately, the payment facility was terminated based on the high energy consumption of the network and the impact it brings on the environment. After this decision, China banned crypto, and these two decisions combined brought a huge negative impact on the crypto market where recently bitcoin fell below 50%. Luckily, the market has recovered from the shock, and Apple’s decision will surely help recover the market.
