Conclusion
The Arctic Cooling Arctic M551 is a solid, comfortable, basic mouse. What makes it stand out from the crowd of mice looking for your $25 is the selectable DPI and the ergonomic design. It is comfortable and accurate which is what most people want in a mouse.
If you are looking for a mouse with more buttons than your average keyboard, this is not the one for you. If you are looking for a solid performing mouse that give you the ability to switch DPI on the fly, then you owe it to yourself to check out the M551. The only drawback I found to the mouse is that it is very light. It feels like there is nothing in your hands. This is something that many people like, but having grown up using the ball mice of yesteryear, I like my mice with a bit of weight to them.
Overall ThinkComputers gives the Arctic Cooling Arctic M551 Laser Gaming Mouse an 8 out of 10 score and our Good Value Award.

Pros:
- Very comfortable
- Responsive and accurate
- On-the-fly DPI switching
- Simple to use and no drivers required
Cons:
- Lightweight
- May be a bit big for people with smaller hands
Nice write up…Good stuff!
Nice to see your words again….size wise..whats this compare to the mx1100?
At the top it is about the same size as my MX518, but the bottom flares out where the finger rest is.
Good stuff! I really like this. I want mine also like this.
Such crap. Mouse is labeled as a gamer mouse, yet when sensitivity is set to gamer standards it just crashes- when mouse is moved “to fast” the pointer starts lagging and glitching. And if we’re talking about games this makes it impossible to play.
This is not just with my model.
