ASRock First To Launch a Radeon RX 7000 Graphics Card with 12V-2×6 Power Connector

ASRock will be the first to release a AMD Radeon RX 7000 series graphics card with a modern 12V-2×6 power connector (updated 12VHPWR). This will replace the three 8-pin PCI-Express power connectors that it took to power a Radeon RX 7900 series graphics card. Sadly these cards are not necessarily gaming cards. While they will be based on the Radeon RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 XTX, they are part of ASRock’s WS series which are targeted and designed for workstation and server rack applications.

These cards will also be the first 2-slot RX 7900 series graphics cards and they are designed with a lateral-flow (blower) fan along with a dense aluminum or copper heatsink. The 12+4 pin ATX 12V-2×6 has been positioned on the tail-end of the card. It has always been a challenge to put three 8-pin PCI-Express power connectors there, having one single connector there makes it possible. But keep in mind this single connector is capable of drawing 600 W of continuous power.
