ASRock has launched a microsite showcasing its new range of AMD AM5 motherboards, along with an updated version of the Taichi series. This isn’t the complete lineup, as ASRock is likely planning to release more high-end boards in the future. Additionally, there’s no mention of the mid-range B850 series at this time.
Currently, the flagship model, named the X870E Taichi, includes a 24+2+1 power stage design and can support up to two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, similar to the X670E Taichi. Almost all of the boards in this lineup come with WiFi 7 support, and 2.5 Gbit LAN appears to be the standard feature now.
One of the most significant upgrades, besides the improved networking, is the addition of a new feature that simplifies M.2 and GPU ejection. This new mechanism allows users to easily detach the card from the PCIe slot with minimal effort. The primary M.2 slot also features a straightforward plug-and-play design.
The launch seems to be just around the corner. According to some rumors, the official review embargo might lift in late September, suggesting there could be about four more weeks of waiting before the release.
