Cooler Master Announces New Vertical GPU Holder With RGB

Cooler Master is introducing a new universal graphics card holder, now featuring RGB lighting. The “Universal Vertical GPU Holder Kit ARGB” is an upgraded version of a previous, affordable option designed to convert horizontally mounted graphics cards to a vertical position. Mounting a graphics card vertically provides benefits like enhanced aesthetics, prevention of GPU sag caused by weight, and easier access to power cables.

Unfortunately, not all new cases are designed to support vertical GPU installations, but some do come with cages that enable users to convert their systems for vertical mounting. Typically, this conversion requires the PCIe slots to be unoccupied to properly install the cage. This is also a requirement for the new Cooler Master kit.

Cooler Master refers to their new holder as “an illuminating perfection” due to the addition of an ARGB lighting bar. This bar can rotate 270 degrees, allowing you to either display more lighting or create two smaller light strips. While it’s not necessary to connect the holder to an ARGB header, those who prefer not to use the lighting feature might want to consider the non-ARGB version, which has been available from Cooler Master for some time.

The holder is adjustable, making it compatible with a wide range of cases and graphics cards. It also includes a PCIe 4.0 riser in the box, so there’s no need to buy one separately.

A new feature compared to the non-ARGB model is the PCIe Slot Quick Release System, which is a small handle that allows you to easily release the card from the PCIe slot. This is a smart addition, as it addresses the common challenge of accessing the PCIe slot when GPUs are mounted vertically.
