Testing – Gaming
The first of our gaming benchmarks is the Alien vs. Predator standalone benchmark. Utilizing DirectX 11, the AvP benchmark pushes your hardware using Tessellation and Advanced Shadow Features. The benchmark was run on high at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Another standalone game benchmark, the S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat benchmark also utilizes DirectX 11. The benchmark was run on high, tessellation enabled, no MSAA, and a resolution of 1920 x 1080.

As one of the more popular and hardware intensive games available at the moment, Battlefield 3 is an effective real-world test of performance.
I set the video preset to high and chose a mission from the campaign to benchmark. The opening sequence of the game is a short sequence yet incorporates many features that could be potentially taxing on video cards. As Battlefield 3 has no built in benchmarking feature, we did this with FRAPS.
