ASUS Unveils Maximus VI Impact Mini-ITX Motherboard

We thought we knew all of ASUS’s Republic of Gamers motherboards for Haswell, but it looks like ASUS had a very special one hiding. Announced today at Computex was the ASUS Republic of Gamers Maximus VI Impact motherboard and yes it is a mini-ITX motherboard! Read on as we have all of the details!

The Maximus VI Impact is not your typical mini-ITX motherboard. ASUS has packed it with a ton of features gamers and enthusiasts are going to love. First off you have a daughter board that houses the power delivery components, which are made up of a 8+2 phase digital VRM. There is also the SupremeFX impact which is a long extensive sound card, which features ELNA audio capacitors and 115dB SNR, plus a headphone amplifier to deliver high-quality and immersive gaming audio. There is also a mPCIe Combo II card with 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

There is a section on the rear I/O called Impact Control that houses a debug LED, clear CMOS button, ROG Link button and power and reset buttons. There is also a large reset button and USB 3.0 header on the board itself. The rest of the rear I/O is made up of 4 USB 2.0 ports, 4 USB 3.0 ports, eSATA, HDMI, DisplayPort, Optical S/PDIF, and audio.
