be quiet! Pure Base 500 Case Review

Installation

Installation in the Pure Base 500 is pretty straight-forward. The first thing you are going to want to do is install your motherboard. Be quiet! has already installed the standoffs so you just have to place your motherboard and secure it with the included screws. Now our motherboard sits pretty flush with the power supply cover, we’ll have to see how that effects connecting our bottom headers.

Our hard drives are next, we will be installing two 2.5-inch solid state drives. Now we could install them on the front side of the case or the back, but we opted for the back to keep the front as clean as possible. So we removed the back hard drive mount and installed our drives on it then simply reinstalled the mount.

You install your power supply from the back of the case. There is a removable mount that you install on the end of your power supply. Then you slide your power supply in from the back of the case. Finally you secure it with the thumbscrews that are on the power supply mount.

With our power supply installed it was time to route most of our cables. As expected it was a little difficult to connect cables to the headers on the bottom of our motherboard, especially our USB 3.0 header. This is not the biggest issue, but can be frustrating to some.

The last thing we need to install is our graphics card, which is the MSI Radeon RX 5600 XT Gaming X. Even though this is a large card, it was easily installed with room to spare.

Now it is time to tidy up our cables and close this case up. The supplied velcro and regular cable ties make organizing your cables really easy and I do like how this case has a dedicated cable routing channel to keep things nice and clean. With everything installed and connected we have a very clean build.

When you power your system on if you have any RGB elements they will easily be visible as the tempered glass panel is not tinted. Also the power button will illuminate white when you have your system powered on.
