be quiet! Pure Base 500 FX Case Overview
Taking a look at the case it is all black and from what we can tell be quiet! is only offering the FX version of the case in black. The 500 DX was available in both white and black versions. When it comes to size I would say it is about the size of an average mid-tower, the official dimensions are 450 x 232 x 443 mm.
The front of the case has a high-airflow design with mesh on each side and an RGB strip that goes down the center of the case. Now you can easily pull the front of the case off and it will reveal a removable filter. With the filter removed we can see the three included Light Wings 120 mm RGB fans. While you do get these fans pre-mounted here the front of the case will support three 120mm, two 140mm, and radiators up to 360 mm. There is also a filter that pulls out from the front of the case at the bottom.
Moving up to the top of the case you’ll find all of your buttons and connections. There is a USB 3.2 gen 1 Type-C port, USB 3.2 gen 1 Type-A port, large power button, headphone and microphone 3.5mm connections and a small button to cycle through the different effects on the fans and RGB element on the case.
The rest of the top of the case is ventilated and is covered by a removable magnetic filter. With the filter removed we can see that the top of the case supports two 120/140mm fans and radiators up to 240 mm.
The main side panel of the case is a tempered glass panel, which will allow you to show off your hardware. be quiet! is still using their thumbscrew design to hold the panel in place, which seems a bit dated at this point. The opposite side panel is just your plain steel panel.
Moving around to the back of the case we have a pretty standard layout. At the top we have a fourth Light Wings fan, but this one is a 140mm, then our motherboard mount and of course our power supply mount at the bottom of the case.
