Boa Slimcase M Overview
Once you get the bag out of the box you will notice that it is very thin, that is why it’s called the Slimcase! It is a vertical bag, which means you will be placing your laptop in vertically rather than horizontally. Booq is one of the only companies I see designing bags like this, I really like the design. The bag has an all black design with orange accents around the top. This is the only color that the bag comes in. On the front there is a small pocket where you could put a cell phone, small book, or other accessories.
Moving around back there is a larger pocket where you would be able to put a newspaper, folder, or other important documents. On the top there is a very thick and comfortable handle that will easily allow you to carry the bag.
When you go to open the main compartment you will notice that Booq is using some heavy duty zippers, they are using YKK zippers which are pretty much used in any high quality bag. They also have large zipper-pulls which make it easier to open and close the bag up. Also the bag is made out of 1680D ballistic nylon with a water-resistant coating so it can take some punishment from the elements.
The interior of the bag is split into 2 sections, the laptop compartment and accessories compartment. The laptop compartment will fit Macbook’s 13-15-inches and normal notebooks 11-13-inches. The compartment is made of half an inch of high-density foam padding and has scratch resistant lining so you don’t have to worry about scratching up your laptop. On the outside of the laptop compartment is a large pocket and 2 more pockets for accessories. On the opposite side you have 2 deep pockets and a small organizer. The inside as you can see is red, it is this way to make it easy for you to find things inside, unless they are red.
When you are taking a look inside the bag you will notice a metal label inside with a barcode on it. The barcode is your bags serial number which is also listed below the barcode. You can go to Terralinq and register you bag. If you ever lose it and someone finds it and is nice enough to report it to Booq they can get in touch with you from the information you provide while registering your bag. Also inside the bag you will find the shoulder strap. It is not super heavy duty, but since this is a smaller bag your will not need something like that. It connects to the bag on each side with metal, not plastic carabiners.
