CM Storm Xornet II Gaming Mouse Review

Usage & Final Thoughts
I have been using the Xornet II for 2 weeks now and I have to say for not being a claw-grip person I really do enjoy the claw-grip style and it is very comfortable. It takes a day or so to get used to it, but once you are the mouse feels very fluid. The smaller size of the mouse was not a big deal to me because I do not have overly-large hands.

I played quite a lof of different games with the Xornet II (The Division, Star Wars Battlefront, Paragon, Fornite), they were mostly FPS so only have 7 programmable buttons was not a big deal at all and I actually prefer mice that have a small amount of buttons. The mouse was very responsive and it did glide very well across my mousepad.

After using the mouse for a few days I noticed the left mouse click started to squeak. This happens to mice when dust gets into the switch mechanism. I’ve never had a mouse where this happened so quickly. I detailed the squeak sound in my video of the mouse. If you are not wearing a headset it can be very annoying. I tried to fix the squeak problem by using compressed air to get the dust out. This did not work. There are other ways you can try and fix this issue, but they involve taking the mouse apart and I feel that most people will not want to do this, especially after only using the mouse for a couple of weeks. Now this could have been a problem with our review sample, but it has been reported on other reviews and online that the Xornet II indeed does have this problem.

Minus the squeaking problem this really is a great mouse. If you use a claw-style grip this is definitely a mouse you should look into, especially given its price. With that said I can only recommend this mouse if you use a headset because that squeaking sound is just annoying!

Right now you can pick up the Xornet II at my favorite online retailer for $32.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the CM Storm Xornet II Gaming Mouse a 7 out of 10 score.
