Cooler Master Announces Its First Mini-LED Gaming Monitor With 165Hz Refresh Rate

Cooler Master has just launched their first mini-LED gaming monitor; Cooler Master GP27-FQS. The Taiwanese display manufacturer AU Optronics has made its screen i.e a 27-Inch 2K.

The gaming monitor features a mini-LED IPS panel with a 2K (2560 x 1440p) resolution. An ultrawide color gamut including 100% of Adobe RGB, 97% of DCI-P3, and 83% of BT2020 is produced using quantum dot technology. It comes with a DisplayHDR1000-certification and offers 600nits of brightness which can be raised to 1200 nits in HDR mode.

The Cooler Master GP27-FQS features a 1000:1 contrast ratio. However, with the help of the Mini-LED backlighting’s 576 local dimming zones, the contrast ratio can go as high as 10,000:1.

Some more gaming related features include a refresh rate of 165Hz along with a 1ms response time. It also possesses Adaptive-Sync via FreeSync Premium. The monitor also offers Low Blue Light emission and features a customizable LED strip on the back for more FPS.

The Cooler Master GP27-FQS has sufficient ports involving two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DP 1.4 port, as well as one USB Type-C port with 90W USB-PD support, one USB Type-B port, and two USB Type-C ports -A port. The monitor also has a built-in pair of 2W speakers. The monitor stand features tilt, swivel, and height adjustment options and supports a 100 x 100mm VESA wall mount.

The monitor will offer a 3-year warranty and the expected cost is around $699 which is rather reasonable for a mini-LED screen.
