Cooling, power, and chassis profferors Cooler Master just launched a new line of high-end power supply, the Silent Pro Gold series. This series is 80PLUS Gold certified and is backed by a five year warranty. It’s a hybrid modular unit, meaning that it has some cables built-in while others are modular.
This is among the first 80PLUS Gold-certified units ThinkComputers has seen. We recently reviewed the first 80PLUS Gold-certified PSU we’d seen, the Sparkle Gold Class 1250W. 80PLUS Gold means that the unit is at least 90% efficient at 20%, 50%, and 100% load. ThinkComputers has the review.

Packaging
The Silent Pro Gold series comes in a gold and black box. There aren’t any pictures of the unit on the outside, but it does very prominently display the 80PLUS Gold logo. On the back of the box, the three patented technologies of the series are highlighted: HTT, Hyper Path, and Hybrid Transformer. More on those later in the review.
The box is well-packed with foam and cables. Inside is a folio with some documentation, a modular cable bag, screws, power cable, and the unit itself.
