Cooler Master Storm Sentinel Advance Gaming Mouse Review

Usage & Testing

Now I’m moving from a Logitech MX revolution mouse to the Sentinel Advanced and honestly it only took me about an hour to get used to it. The buttons are very comfortable and the mouse glides nicely over my mouse pad. For browsing the internet and other basic tasks the Sentinel does a great job and is very comfortable. It is perfectly made for right-handed usage, it seemed like the far right side of my hand just sat on the mouse nicely.

Of course the Sentinel Advance was not made for just basic usage, it is made for gaming! I play all different types of games with the Sentinel Advance. Some of those games included UT3, Crysis Warhead, Counter-Strike: Source, World of Warcraft and Day of Defeat: Source. I really liked how accurate the mouse was and it seemed my aim got better (hence more accurate) when using the Sentinel Advance. The sensor on the Sentinel Advance uses twin lasers, Doppler Effect processing, and real-time tracking technology (as opposed to software prediction) for nothing but deadly accuracy. I really liked the on the fly DPI switching, which was nice when switching games. Also I setup profiles for each game so I wouldn’t have to go in and change anything every time I went to switch games.

One of the coolest things about the Sentinel Advance is the lighting effects. As I said there are LED’s that shine through the top mesh and 2 lenses in the front that light comes out of. These LED’s are configured independently so you can have 2 of the same colors or mix and match colors.

These LED’s also have 3 very cool settings. You can have them blink between the 2 selected colors by pressing and holding the DPI up button. You can set them to “breathing” mode in the software, where it makes it look like the mouse is actually breathing in and out. Finally the coolest light mode is called rapid fire mode. In this mode the bottom LED’s emit a white light every time you click the mouse..very cool! Here a video showing off the many different light modes and colors on the Sentinel Advance.
