Every so often a company will refresh one of its current products in order to provide customers access to new technologies that have come about since the launch of the original product. This happens in nearly every industry, and the PC component industry is no different. Knowing this, it is no surprise that Corsair has released their Scimitar RGB Elite optical MOBA/MMO gaming mouse, a refresh of their Scimitar Pro RGB. Comparing the Scimitar RGB Elite to the previous Scimitar Pro RGB, there are only a few real differences between the two, notably the sensor, click-rating, and weight. The new Scimitar RGB Elite uses a custom 18,000 DPI PixArt PMW3391 optical sensor, while the previous model utilizes the 16,000 DPI PWM3367. The Scimitar RGB Elite also weighs slightly less than the RGB Pro, coming in at 122g without the cable versus 147g.

As we have come to expect, the Scimitar RGB Elite comes to us in Corsairs standard black and yellow retail packaging. A top-down image of the mouse is highlighted on the front of the box, along with the name and labeling that designates this mouse as geared towards MOBA and MMO games.
