Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2 Soundbar Overview
Taking a first look at the soundbar itself it is definitely smaller than many soundbar’s you would see at the store. The official dimensions are 600 x 95 x 62 mm (23.6 x 3.74 x 2.44 inches) and being only 2.44-inches tall means that the Katana V2 can easily fit under your monitor on your desk.
The soundbar definitely has a quality look and feel to it with an all black bushed aluminum finish. Right in the center at the top you’ll find your controls as well as a small Sound Blaster logo. The controls include a power button, volume down, volume up, source, mode, and SXFI buttons. The soundbar is powered by two 63 mm (2.5″) mid-range drivers and two 19 mm (¾”) tweeters.
Right in the front of the soundbar is a small display that will let you know information like what mode you are in, volume, etc. There is also a 3.5mm jack to connect headphones, which is nice so you don’t have to connect your headphone behind your PC.
Moving around to the back of the unit you’ll find all of your connections. From left to right you have HDMI Out (ARC), SXFI Out (USB), USB Audio In (USB-C), AUX-in, Optical In, Sub Out, and your power connection.
Flipping the soundbar over there are two large rubber feet on the bottom and we can see the diffuser for the lighting, which we’ll go over in just a bit.
The subwoofer that comes with the Katana V2 is pretty large with official dimensions of 150 x 367 x 367 mm (5.9 x 14.4 x 14.4 inches). Inside is a 165 mm (6.5″) subwoofer driver. So combined with the soundbar you have 126W RMS (252W peak) of power output.
