Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2 Soundbar Review

Final Thoughts

At the beginning of this review I said the last thing I really considered for my gaming setup was a soundbar, but Creative has definitely changed my mind with Sound Blaster Katana V2! While I would say most PC gamers are using headphones for competitive gaming the Katana V2 actually does a really good job a accurately pin-pointing enemies in the games that we tested, I was actually very impressed. Most of the speaker solutions I’ve used in the past are pretty garbled when it comes to location accuracy.

On top of the accuracy, the Katana V2 has some very powerful sound! This is going allow you to really “feel” those gunshots, explosions, and more. As I mentioned earlier this has a lot to do with the subwoofer. It really has some umph and if you are moving from a speaker setup without a subwoofer or say TV speakers you are instantly going to notice a difference. For those considering using the Katana V2 in their living room for either movies or gaming it is going to blow your TVs built-in speakers away!

For first time soundbar users the Katana V2 is extremely easy to set up and I really like how many different connectivity options there are. So if you are using it on your PC, game console, TV or more you are covered. The remote and apps make it really easy to use and customize the sound bar and I really like that Creative added six custom buttons to the remote, they could have included batteries with the controller though.

Right now you can pick up the Katana V2 directly from Creative for $329.99, I was unable to find it for sale anywhere else really. I really hope availability opens up at other retailers. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Creative Sound Blaster Katana V2 Soundbar a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award!
