Final Thoughts on the Crucial Pro Overclocking Edition DDR5-6400 32GB Memory Kit
As I said in my previous review of the 6000 MHz version of this memory I am not really sure why Crucial calls this their Pro Overclocking memory. 6400 MHz is the JEDEC speed of the new Intel Z890 platform so it is not like this memory is running at “overclocked” speeds. We’ve seen far faster memory be released over the past year as well. Now I do have to say it was quite nice to get an extra 800 MHz out of this kit as I was able to push it up to 7200 MHz while keeping the same timings and voltage. I do believe this has a lot to do with the new memory controller on the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and the NitroPath DRAM tech on the motherboard we used.
This kit does have both Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO profiles so you are easily going to be able to get this kit up and running whether you are on an Intel system or AMD system. It also has has multiple profiles for each, so if one does not work on your setup you can try the other.
As far as design goes this modules retain the same look that we saw before. I think for non-RGB memory they gives you that sleek look that won’t draw attention away from the other components in your build. Since we have both black and white options these would be perfect for those all-white or blacked-out builds.
Right now this kit is available at our favorite online retailer for $99.99 which is a good price for a solid and reliable memory kit. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Crucial Pro Overclocking Edition DDR5-6400 32GB Memory Kit an 8 out of 10 score.
