Yesterday we were supposed to get a look at Crysis Remastered as the Official Gameplay Trailer Premiere was scheduled to go live, but that video has since been removed. It appears that gameplay footage and screenshots were leaked ahead of the premiere of the video and fans were not impressed. Apparently EA and Crytek were listening as soon after they responded to fans on Twitter.

Now the game was originally set to be released on July 23rd, but it looks like they will be taking a few extra weeks to “polish” the game, whatever that means. I think the big reason fans were upset at the leaked footage was that we were shown this amazing scene at the end of their Crytek’s CryEngine Showcase video, and the leaked footage did not look all that great.
So is the remaster just a cash grab and a port to Nintendo Switch? Or will the game be a benchmark for quality like it once was in the PC industry? I guess time will tell.
