We all are waiting for the next Battlefield game, and now EA and DICE have announced that they will officially reveal the game next week. No details are provided about the event except for a logo and time. However, the teaser indicates that it will not be a history-based game.
In case you are not following the leaks, the leaks revealed that the upcoming Battlefield will have a near-future setting similar to Battlefield 3 and 4. Moreover, a new battle royal is also being developed. Some blurry shots from an early reveal trailer have revealed Boston-Dynamics-style robots and the attack of drones on a rocket launch pad.
Various teams are co-developing the upcoming Battlefield, which includes the main EA DICE team in Stockholm, DICE LA, and Criterion Games. There is a rumor that it may be a Day 1 Xbox Game Pass release. During a recent earnings call, EA’s CEO, Andrew Wilson, said:
I have a chance of seeing the work in progress last week and it is incredible. What the team has been able to do in the context of next-generation consoles and epic-scale battles, unbelievable player accounts, destruction in terms of those which is really incredible, and it’s a very innovative and creative mode for the future of the franchise. […] We’re really excited about Battlefield, everything I’ve seen in the game is spectacular. And I think it’s going to be an amazing relaunch of that franchise this year and will lead us into an incredible live service for the future.
The reveal will happen on June 9 at 7 am PT.
