Installation in the Fractal Design Epoch XL Case
To start off our installation we installed our motherboard. Since this case is larger than the original we have even more room to work with. The standoffs are pre-installed so all we have to do is place our motherboard and secure it with screws.
Using the removable SSD bracket I was easily able to mount my 2.5-inch SSD outside of the case and then re-install the bracket.
For our power supply Fractal Design was nice enough to supply their new Ion 3 Gold 1000W unit. This power supply is fully modular with white cables including the actual main power cable you plug into the wall! To get it installed we remove the power supply bracket from the back of the case and install it on the power supply. Then slide your power supply in from the back of the case, securing it with the two thumbscrews on the bracket.
For our graphics card we are going to be using the ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 5070 OC Edition which is 329mm. As you can see we have more than enough room in this case.
Now we are left to wire everything up. With all of the pre-installed Velcro ties this is quite easy. These ties are actually held into place with small circular mounts on the back of the case. This means that you can easily move the ties to best fit your configuration. As you can see we have an extremely clean build.
