G.Skill Ripjaws4 DDR4-2400 16GB Memory Kit Review

Final Thoughts
Well it looks like we have another solid memory kit from G.Skill and the quality and performance is what we have grown to expect from G.Skill. They have been making high performance memory for some time now and this is the first DDR4 memory kit that we have reviewed that is not set at the stock 2133 MHz, instead we have a bump up to 2400 MHz.

The kit itself looks great with its aggressive heatspreaders that not only keep the memory chips cool, but also look great. The heatspreaders are not overly large, so you shouldn’t run into any clearance issues at all. G.Skill has also matched the black heatspreader with a black PCB. If the black heatspreader is not your style G.Skill also offers Ripjaws4 modules in red and blue to best match the components in your system.

Getting the modules setup is extremely easy as they have an XMP profile that you simply enable to get the memory running at the correct speed. Running at 2400 MHz the memory was solid, and we were able to overclock them up to 2750 MHz. I do believe that our motherboard held us back a little bit. I do think once the X99 platform matures a little bit we will see better overclocks on DDR4 memory.

If you are looking for a DDR4 memory kit for your new X99 build this kit is a solid choice. G.Skill is offering Ripjaws4 DDR4 memory ranging from 2133 MHz all the way up to 3333 MHz so you have a few different kits to choose from. G.Skill is also backing these kits with a limited lifetime warranty. The F4-2400C15Q-16GRK kit we reviewed today is selling at my favorite online retailer for $259.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the G.Skill Ripjaws4 DDR4-2400 16GB Memory Kit a 10 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award.
